The City of Stirling has been working for a number of years to create a bicycle friendly route connecting the Stirling City Centre and train station with the Scarborough Beach Precinct.
The project aims to design a road system where the driver is encouraged to lower speed and be more aware of vulnerable road users through the design and function of the road, using elements such as lowering the speed limit to 30km/h, increased landscaping, intersection treatments, additional on-street parking and kerbed median islands to create a visually distinct road environment.
